FROM THE OFFICE

Dear Parents and Learners

Welcome back for the Spring Quarter.

We've had a busy Spring break with lots happening, but we will report back on all the events on Friday.  Today's blog is for information purposes only.  Please let us know if you have any news to share.

Uniform and Dress & Grooming

We change to Summer uniform from the start of this quarter.  Girls are to wear thin stockings or short white socks with the dress.  Learners will however wear winter uniform for the awards ceremonies.

Please ensure that learners are immaculately turned out from the start of the quarter, as we start with all our major awards ceremonies where the College is on show.

Please check:

Blazer buttons: 2 blazer buttons. Available at reception.

Piercings on the lobe of each ear. All other piercings must be replaced with silicone studs available at reception. No exceptions.

Hair must be neat. Hair is not allowed to hang below eyebrows or touch the back collar.

Grey socks to be worn with grey gender neutral pants.

LEARNER SUPPORT

Mrs Scott (C block):  sjscott@parklands.co.za

Mrs Kistan (Resource Centre):  skistan@parklands.co.za

Psychometric Assessments

The learner support department offers psychometric assessments at the school for subject choice and career counselling. This process includes an initial interview with the learner, aptitude, personality and interest assessments, as well as a feedback session with an assessment report that is a useful guidance tool for informed decision making and clarity in one’s career or subject choice process. The assessments are done at school and during school time.

Please contact Samantha Scott sjscott@parklands.co.za for more information or to make a booking. There are limited assessment slots each quarter so please enquire early in 2025 to avoid disappointment. (Please note assessments are a billable service). The assessment slots for Quarter 4 are fully booked.

If you are interested please let us know and we will put you on the waiting list should an assessment slot become available.

CONCLUSION

We look forward to a successful and exciting final quarter.

Kind regards

Sylvia Steyn
