Welcome Back to a New Academic Year

As we commence a new academic year, we extend a very warm welcome to our learners, parents and staff. Whether you are returning to Parklands or joining our community for the first time, we are delighted to have you with us.

Our staff have worked with great care and commitment to prepare for the year ahead, ensuring that our classrooms, programmes and systems are fully in place to support purposeful and engaging learning. We value our partnership with parents and look forward to working closely together as we guide our learners to develop not only academically, but also in character, resilience and confidence.

To our learners: may this year bring growth, challenge and achievement. Approach each opportunity with curiosity and determination, and remember that sustained effort and perseverance are the foundations of success.

We look ahead with optimism and enthusiasm to a year of learning, collaboration and shared success, and wish all members of our community a positive and rewarding start to the academic year.

National Senior Certificate (NSC) Matric Results - Class of 2025

We are delighted to announce another year of excellence, with a 100% pass rate for all 122 candidates.  These results highlight far more than academic achievement; they reflect team effort, dedication, and consistency. We sincerely thank every educator and parent who supported our learners on this journey.

Congratulations to the Matric Class of 2025 on their wonderful Final NSC Results.

A special welcome to our Grade 7 learners and their families.   Please find the arrangements for their first day / week.

Monday, 19 January (Device orientation day for learners new to Parklands College)

Please bring your charged device, stationery and a packed lunch.

Tuesday, 20 January: (Start of Summer Quarter)

Arrival before 07:50

Please report to the Reception area in full school uniform with your device and stationery.  No need to pack your textbooks.

End of day at 14:35

Grade 7 dress code for the rest of the week:

Wednesday, 21 January: House colours

Thursday, 22 January: Sports kit

Friday, 23 January: Full school uniform

End of each Day: Learners can be collected in front of Reception, near the drop-off zone, from 14:35 (14:30 on Fridays)

Other Reminders: A water bottle (it's going to be a scorcher week, sunscreen & deodorant).

Inter-House Gala

The Inter-House gala will take place on Wednesday, 21 January, from 12:00 onwards.  Parents are welcome to support.  Learners are reminded to apply sunblock and bring water for the day and can come dress to school in house colours.  The school day for learners will end at 14:30.

Academic & Honours Awards Ceremony 

On Thursday, 22 January, we will have our Academic & Honours Awards Ceremony at 18:00.  Note that this is a compulsory event and all learners are required to attend.

Robotics 2026

Dear Robotics Community,

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first full Co-curricular Robotics Programme, running throughout the College—from Pre-Primary right up to Secondary. This programme has been carefully designed to provide a holistic robotics experience, ensuring that every learner has fun, is challenged and gains skills that are valuable for future studies and careers in engineering, mechanics, and technology.

1️⃣ FIRST Robotics Sessions

Every learner will attend one session per week, known as the FIRST Robotics session.
This is a billable co-curricular, with costs per faculty available on the College fee structure.

• Prep Faculty: Fridays (afternoon)

• Secondary Faculty: Wednesdays during the utility period (GET & FET)

During these sessions, learners will:

• Develop a progressive set of robotics skills, from introductory basics to advanced engineering concepts.

• Learn practical and transferable skills that can be applied in competitions, further studies, and the workplace.

2️⃣ Selection for Robotics Teams & Competitions

Learners who show interest, commitment, and skill during these sessions will be invited to join our robotics teams to participate in various competitions.

• Participation in these competitive teams will involve additional sessions (e.g., Saturdays / holidays), but there is no extra cost for those selected.

• Learners already in the Hyperion Bots Team can continue in the team, but attendance at the Wednesday utility session is still required.

3️⃣ Important Notes

• The Wednesday Secondary and Friday Preparatory sessions are our current schedule. Any changes will be communicated promptly.

• Participation in FIRST Robotics sessions are mandatory for all learners who wish to be considered for competition teams, as these sessions form the foundation for team selections.

💡 Information Online Meeting
We will be hosting an online meeting on 21 January from 17:30 PM to 18:30 PM to explain everything in detail and answer any questions.

Kindly note that all learners are required to wear the braided striped blazer in 2026 and Parklands socks available from School & Leisure.

PRE-PRIMARY

If you have dress-up clothes, dolls’ clothes, or home-corner play items in good condition that your family no longer uses—especially after the festive season—we would gladly give them a new home in our Pre-Primary classrooms. These little additions make playtime richer for the children. Donations can be dropped off at the Pre-Primary at your convenience.
