Secondary Faculty: 15 January 2025
From the Office
We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus next week. May 2025 be a year to remember!
This blog serves to provide you with information for the start of the new year. On Friday, 24 January 2025 we will publish a blog with holiday news. Please mail secondary@parklands.co.za with any news about your children's achievements over the holiday.
Kindly ensure that learners are immaculately dressed and groomed from the first day.
Dress and Grooming
A single stud or small ring earring (maximum 15mm in diameter with a thickness of 2mm) may be worn in the lobe of both ears. All other piercings should be replaced with a transparent silicone stud.
Transparent bristles may be used for any other piercings. Plasters may not be used to cover up earrings.
Jewellery prohibited by the Dress and Grooming policy will be confiscated and placed in a bag at reception. This can be collected on the last day of the quarter.
We do not allow “healing time” for piercings.
Pants must be properly pulled up and tied with a belt when necessary. Belts should be plain black with a simple buckle (rectangular or pin belt buckle).
Concealer is allowed, but no heavy foundation and/or make-up (eye-liner, mascara, etc.) Artificial eye lashes must look natural.
Shaving: Boys must be clean shaven at all times.
Hair Length: Hair must be kept short above the collar or tied up. Long hair must all be tied back and fringes kept above the eyebrows. Long fringes must be clipped back. Long hair needs to be properly managed. If a learner has been given a second warning/demerits for poor hair management (neglecting to tie hair/trim fringes and hair around the ears and back), the privilege of long hair will be removed. No outlandish hair styling will be permitted.
Matric results
Congratulations to the Class of 2024, their parents and all their educators over the years. We are most proud of the results, especially because everyone qualified for tertiary studies - 96% with access to Bachelor Degree Studies and the rest with access to Diploma Studies.
